A Widow on Cambronne

Best deal!

David's latest work chronicles the trials, tribulations, and finally the vindication of the New Orleans Torretta family. Joe 'Beef' Torretta seems to be the man 'carrying the mail' for the family. Not only for the family, but for an array of Irish Channel and Old Jefferson residents.

Amidst the heartbreak and redeeming love of this account, a question lingers. Was family member Dutch Mason assassinated and if so, who did it? And why?

'A Widow on Cambronne,' including eBook format, is now available from booksellers everywhere.

Artist Statement

My goal, as a novelist, is to present a piece of history. This may come across as an atypical target for a writer of fiction. Allow me to elaborate. I don’t write historical novels. I’m not inferring that my stories will encompass a widely significant slice of history, particularly what most would consider “world-changing” history. I refer to that personal segment of history to which each of us has an individual claim.

What the heck does THAT mean?

Everyone owns a unique history. One’s unique history includes the people, places, experiences, life-events and more that have served to take us to our own distinct ‘present’ and shape the person each of us has become. Regarding my work, such is my canvas - my own history and that of those willing to share theirs.

I once stated at an arts council presentation: “Whether one writes, paints, sings, acts – whatever, we all have treasures buried within our hearts and minds. Our struggle is to dig deep enough to reach them and then to determine the medium upon which to share them.”

I choose to set my stories in or near to contemporary times. My opinion is that current times being as they are, in which rapid change is the norm, times golden to so many of us, are at risk of being forgotten. My most sincere aspiration is that they be remembered.

This is my artist statement.

Welcome to Page Thirteen Books by David A. Myers. We think you'll enjoy these short and easy-reading novels. The stories take twists, so be ready. They'll contain a level of mystery, thrill and danger. There may be bruised knuckles. There will be broken hearts. There may be love and romance (likely all of the above). Set in contemporary times with the often-peculiar twists of day-to-day life.
